CALL FOR ARTISTS
MeniThings Productions is seeking submissions from talented CGI artists for an original theatrical feature currently in production at Defaultmind in Venice Beach
The process is open to all CGI artists regardless of your location or previous experience. MeniThings director Meni Tsirbas is looking for talented, industrious digital artists interested in becoming part of a team that will create a theatrical quality sequence for his independent all-CGI feature film during the animatic phase.
Positions:
Character Animator: Proficient in LightWave 3D, Maya, or Project: messiah. Strong skills in rigging also required. Other skills (modeling, texturing, FX animation, compositing) a definite plus.
Modeler: Proficient in LightWave 3D Modeler or Luxologys modo. Strong skills in painting and applying texture maps also required. Other skills (Character animation, FX animation, compositing) a definite plus.
All-Rounder: Proficient in LightWave 3D or Maya. Strong overall skill set. This includes modeling/texturing, FX animation, character animation, lighting, and compositing.
Please include a demo reel on either DVD or VHS (NTSC) with a work resumé. Please specify which parts were done by the artist if reel shows work done by a team. Web links also welcome. A cover letter telling us who you are and why this project interests you is recommended.
Timeline:
The theatrical quality sequence will begin pre-production in the spring of 2005. Production will follow in early summer for a period of 4 to 6 weeks. We recommend that you get us your reel as quickly as possible.
Compensation:
The selected artists will be compensated at industry standard rates, will receive full credit on their work and will be first to be offered the opportunity to be a part of the team that will bring the feature to the screen beginning in early 2006.
