I've finished Betty Edwards DoRSB - what now?

Ok, I’m learning how to draw :banghead: . Just have finished Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain :applause: and have an important question:
Which way to go Bob?
What’s my next step, next book, next DVD? Please Kind Sirs, I need yours advice.

P.S.
I heard there’s some shady, naughty book entitled “The Natural Way to Draw” by Kimon Nicolaides - is it good Bob? Is it good?

Did the book really help you to learn drawing by observation? I skimmed through the book once at the local bookstore, and just by doing so, it didn’t convince me at all.

That book taught me about drawing and how to draw more than enything else  (frankly this is the only book on drawing I’ve ever read ).It teaches you fundamentals and how to escape wrong habits which make your drawings look bad.
And now I can draw like a PRO!..not really…but I’m much much better than I was week ago.

Start drawing a lot would be the next step. You won’t know what your weaknesses are unless you start drawing a lot. Then you can target your weaknesses with further learning material.

I’ve done a mix between Betty Edwards book, Andrew Loomis’ books, and some Gnomon videos by Robert Scott and Neville Page (I’ve watched quite a few others but those two are about the only two that spend most of their time teaching and not just showing off their skills as artists).

Now if I could just learn to use color (i.e. paint).

Thanks for your answers Lunatique & Fodder1977. Yes Lunatique, you’re definitely right, I have to know my weaknesses first to know what to ask about, but it’s so hard to just ‘waste’ time for practicing what I’ve learned instead of going forward, learning another new and exciting things :bounce: …yes I know first I have to master these few small skills I have…

And Fodder1977 I’ll check those DVD’s you mentioned, thanks for that.

Can’t go wrong with Loomis.
