Is there a limit to polygon decimation or is this a bug?

#1

I have a high-poly model (378,112 polygons) that I want to severely decimate, say to 2000 polygons or so in order to put multiple instances of it in the far background. However, no matter how far I pull the slider in the decimation window, the lowest polycount I can get is 96,078.

Is there any way to further decimate the polycount in Vue?

Is this during import of the object into Vue? Or after, and you are in the Polygon Mesh Options, selecting the decimate button?

Anyway, I think Vue is trying to save you from yourself. It thinks that your model looks best at the settings it chooses for you.

Have you played much with painting the object as a single brush stroke via the eco-system? Then it doesn’t matter how many polys your model has. I think duplicate will do the same thing. Then you can move the duplicates around.
