Is the CGS area dead?

#161

Oh man! Its finally weekend for me! These goddamn insane deadlines are killing me, and my creativity

Anyway… what is going on with me… art related; I’ve just gotten an letter from the NFTA (a Dutch film academy) that i’m accepted to the second and last round of the admission process. This means I have to do an assignment. I have to show ‘the interaction waiting people have with eachother and their surroundings…’ So if somebody got a nice, out of the box, idea which can be done within a couple of days I will be greatly thankfull!

Non-art related; i’ve just got my MacBook Pro this week and as a Windows user i’m still getting accustomed to the interface. Looking for the right software. But I really love the thing, it works smooth as butter with premiere and after effects… I have this weird love for apple. My 3rd generation iPod died on me for a shitty reason, and I dropped my then just new iBook and it got heavily damaged beyond repair. It still works, but like a crippled. So my history with Apple is quite bad, but I still love it. Their marketing is magic

D@mn, all you guys are so busy… I’m doing nothing

Artwise, fighting for the glory of CGS in the war :scream:

That’s about it

Rick, how about a ‘freeze’? Like the one in NY train station?

Or another idea from http://improveverywhere.com/ ? That would be great fun and it would also explore peoples’ natural curiosity- the fact that when you’re waiting, you slow down and you’re more likely to explore your surroundings and participate in random things.

#164

That was brilliant!

#165

Lol, that was indeed amazing! These people do have ‘balls’.

What do you precisely mean with a ‘freeze’? Like; ‘his surrounding freezes while he walks through it’ or something? This is allready helpfull so far! Thanks Paperclip!

#166

The other way around, actually!

http://improveverywhere.com/2008/01/31/frozen-grand-central/

it probably wouldn’t be as effective unless you had a good few people who’d be up for it though.

A cheap, one-man trick to try out could be to glue an euro (or a quarter, too bad you don’t have dollar coins) to the ground beside a bus stop and film people trying to pick it up. :stuck_out_tongue:
The trick here is to interact with the person in a way in which they don’t really know that it’s a stunt…

How many people would you have at your disposal?

That was a great clip Theresa! Thanks.

“Look the janitor is still cleaning up!” Hahaha…

Me and Mondays dislike eachother :frowning:

hopefully this will change that a bit

#174

Okay Rick, this is something I’ve wanted to do since I first observed it but never had a video camera ready to do so. I call it ‘grazing’.

I was in a huge hotel lobby during a lunch break for a seminar. I was on one side so I could see the whole thing and as I look out I see dozens of people wandering around aimlessly like cows grazing. The fact was they were talking on their cell phones but the vision of cows stuck in my head.

Easy to film, easy to mock. Go for it!

#175

Dang, thats fantastic.

#176

One more exam to go and as of tomorrow at 1pm I’m a free woman! :bounce:
Have to pull another late one tonight though…hypotensive retinopathy, here I come!

#177

Go go go Theresa, you can do it!

#178

Glad one of us is smart  Go go Theresa!

Oh yeah, Dimi is smart too… but don’t tell him

I gave up Uni for art… and live the life of a beggar

#179

Lol, thats actually a fun picture! and not so hard to film, indeed. But for now I think I’ve an idea that will work. I only have the check if its reasonable to get it done with the given time…

So what are we doing with easter? do you all have a long weekend? At least I do  and I’m looking forward to it. Though I think i’ve to spend my time on my project for the film academy… but that should be fun.
