Is it possible to ReTime??

#1

Hi guyz. Im a newbie! I’ve checked out the ReTiming possibilities that Shake 4 can offer, but im a little bit mixed up… I specially want to know if its possible to keyframe time behaviors (speeds): lets say for example i have a clip of some dude jumping with a skateboard, so i want to play normally everything except one small fraction of time (when he indeed, jumps). Is it possible to do this in Shake? So far ive only been able to alter speed on a WHOLE clip. Cheers!!

yes, you can do this in the file in node by turning on “retime”. Also this can be done with a timex node, but I suggest you use the file in of possible.

Thank you! Yes, i know about the retimer in the file in node. Thats precisely what i mean!! What i really want to know is if you can keyframe time behaviour within that node! I just cant manage to do it (no keyframing possible so far) with the “speed” option, and the other options i do not understand them. Please help! Thank you very much!

no offense, but this is a rtfm moment.

I wouldve never posted without having read the fm more than a couple of times before doing so. Sorry if my question is frustrating indeed. You dont have to answer though, do you? Thanks

Ok, Ill get you started.

Go into the file-in node, in the “timing” tab. Change “reTiming” from “None” to “Remap”. Now click on the + next to the word “reTime”. There is a box you can put different time into in order to key it and remap it. Go in and add keyframes so it goes whatever speed you want. Also you can just edit the curve.
