Is Houdini Engine viable for production?

Hi Guys,

So I am hopping on the Houdini bandwagon. I have been going through the tutorials this week with Apprentice and going to be grabbing an indie license soon. I was wondering if we have some people here who use Houdini Engine in production. How does it work in your experience? I am interested in using it with Maya and Unreal (not sure if the Unreal one is available yet)

I have been using it in production to get some of our digital assets to run in the context of several maya oriented workflows, and have loved it so far…! The basics are straighforward: you save a digital asset, you load in maya, bam! there are also lots of great tutorials to get started

As you continue to work with it you will find at times that you will hit certain limitations and wish that the engine did this and that (which I generally report at sidefx.com). However, I generally find a way to get around such limitations, as I normally wrap my digital assets with QT interfaces
