Intuos P&T M or Intuos Pro S

#1

Hi everyone!

I need to buy a new tablet, and I’m trying - without success - to decide which one to choose.
The choice is between Intuos M or Intuos Pro S - as both come at similar price.
I use my tablet for drawing and maybe in future - for digital painting. By now I used an A4 tablet, but I find it too big - and it broke, so… Not to mention it was no match for WACOM quality.
I tried drawing on Intuos Pen S and that size of active area - A6 - seemed comfortable.
Yet I’m pretty sure that I’m not that “pro” to actually be capable of utilizing all the specs that Pro line provides. Especially after reading the response in this topic - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4859
So does it really look like that? Does a normal artist really need 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity?
I know that Pro S provides a lot of accessories in the package like wireless kit or a lot of different nibs, but is it worth to sacrifice A5 for smaller - yet more advanced - A6?

I’ll be grateful for your help, because this choice is killing me recently :r

The difference in pressure levels is not a big deal, 1024 versus 2048. Nobody would ever be able to tell you one way or another just by using the tablets. The biggie here is tilt sensitivity. The Intuos Pro is aware of the pen tilt and the other Intuos products are not. If you plan to do digital painting (not just quick sketches) then this is a critical feature in my opinion.

I would go for PRO because of tilt. It makes a big difference.

Thank you olson and squatter for your help ^.^
I decided to go for Pro S and got it for over a week already. It’s… perfect.
There was one thing that made me certain that Pros S is better - bezels. In Intuos M side bezels are really small, causing hand to fall of the surface which makes using the entire active area for drawing really uncomfortable if not impossible.
