Inspiration

Hello,

Just had a very pleasant revelation and I thought I would share it with you all.
I took a multimedia degree which included video editing, compositing, 3D modeling and animation. 3D was always the field that struck me the most, but after I moved to London and landed a job as a video editor, it was very much pushed to the back burner. Recently though, I’ve renewed my interest and been itching to get going again. However I found it very difficult to get inspired. I tried many of the standard “artisty” things; observe my surroundings, sketch etc but was still short on ideas. I joined CGSociety just a short time ago while tracking down an old schoolmate and I’ve been blown away by the impact it’s had on me. Such a wellspring of ideas and inspiration, I’ve been glued here for the past couple of days.

Just wanted to say ‘hi’ and ‘thanks for the inspiration’ and I hope you’ll be hearing a lot from me soon.

Hey Erven, should you want any printed inspiration, give me a shout. I have loads of old copies of 3d world going spare!
I’ve been getting more and more inspired by doodling recently. I run out of ideas, hit a creative block, doodle for about 5 minutes and realise I’m drawing a solution. Either that or I wonder around outside for a bit. Nature’s inspirational, even in London;).

I do enjoy a bit of TF2 every now and then! When/where is the weekly deathmatch?

Hey thanks!

I won’t make it tonight either… Tomorrow’s my birthday and my lovely wife has the whole weekend blocked out :-), but I shall check it out soon!
