It could be handy
. What do you think?
inset region
I think Extrude Region (0 units), followed by edge loop (while the extrusion is still selected), followed by slide. But then again, I’m crazy like that. :bounce:
Alternatively:
Select region of faces to inset
Invert Selection
Face | Bump - hold shift (or just don’t move mouse) to keep bump height to zero, grow / shrink new boundary edges with +/-
(Use ‘Tab’ input if you want something in between the +/- ‘steps’)
Produces different geometry under some conditions - and imo, new boundary edges that’re more parallel to original ones …
… anyway, you’ve now got a choice

I tested both methods and they worked very well. Thanks!
Edit: The extrude method sounds logical, but the bump method is simply genial
Oh I thought it was intrude reagion. What I do for that is loop cut before and after where I want to do the intrude then intrude and tehn do a weld. I do this for aircraft cockpits.
I see what you are talking about that is useful. I dissolve the faces then do an intrude and then reconnect the verticies if needed.
