Incorrect colors

#1

Hello
I have a problem in all of the adobe programs I have installed PS:CS2 PS:CS3 and Lightroom 1.0
All of them show me wrong colors, it all looks some what reddish then it should be, every where else the colors are perfect on my computer but just in Adobe programs the colors are way off.
I tried uninstalling both of the photoshops but not the lightroom and it didnt help.
I tried alt+ctrl+shift to delete the settings file that didnt help either.
I tried all of the color settings possibly can and they all show colors that are incorrect except the monitor color settings but that is not a color setting I am supposed to work with.
this is really strange I choose something that supposed to be gray but it shows reddish color but when I save it in the preview I see it as gray, whats going on? any one for the rescue?

here is a sample on how my problem looks like:

I had a similar problem with the save for web and I think this site might help explain what is going on. It sounds like you are working in a different profile within the adobe software. There is a profile assigned in each program and also a color management section in the adobe bridge that applies to all of you adobe software. In addition when you save for web it will convert the profile to srgb automatically unless you change it.

the problem is not for save for web its that anything that I open in photoshop is more red in color
even pictures I watch in lightroom whatever this thing is it effects both photoshop and lightroom but not bridge, the colors in bridge are fine

FAQ:Why do my colours look odd in Photoshop but not other apps

Looking over your images the grey that looks fine is being converted to srgb. If you look at the picture you’ll see the optimized tab is selected so its applying the srgb profile to the image. Convert to srgb is turned on by default in the save for web option. You can check it by clicking the little arrow in a circle above the optimized checkbox in the save for web menu.

It sounds to me like Photoshop and Lightroom have color management being applied as a profile other then srgb. Bridge might be set to srgb or none. Also check your color policies under your color settings to see how Photoshop is handling automatically the emmbeded color profiles. That link I posted will tell you how to make sure your color is setup right. The last thing left I’d say is to color calibrate your monitor with a color calibrater. The monitor profile might be off.

I solved this problem with correcting the Adobe Gamma which is found in control panel> other control panel options> Adobe gamma in Windows XP, in case any one gets stuck with this Just as I did.
