In the Spirit of 3D Artistry...

#1

Glad to be here! I’m SHEA, 41 living the BOLD life of a freelance 3D generalist in expensive San Diego California. I have been a 3DS Max guy since DOS R2, and have made a living with the package ever since. My core clients are Set Design, Technical/Medical & finally as much character work as I can dig up and handle.

And in the spirit of getting the job done, here I am past 3:00am hanging with my Euro pals and tweaking morph targets and mental ray shaders!

I hope to one day earn my way to the cover page, and look and feel like the character I am working on right now (below). Please sign my thread if you wish - Kind Regards, -S

Hey Michael. Took a look at your demo reel recently. Interesting stuff. The “emmy award winning” caption at the end caught my eye though. What was it for? (curious)

Hey Stephen,

I hold four Emmy’s for my Set Design work, produced with 3DS Max BTW. Thanks for viewing my reel, like most active 3D artist reels I’m afraid it is looking a bit dated - and mixing art projects with commercial stuff hase been a bit awkward at times. So having successfully crossed over into other 3D disaplines, and surviving some tough times as a freelancer is my real honor.

Thanks for stopping by…

Hey Ryan,

Dig your work man, and I have driven pretty far to party, but Lost Wages is actually closer to San Diego than Scottsdale AZ… what are you thinking?

Tnx for signing da book,… smoke and a pancake?
