Importing DXF/IGS issues...

Hey,

A client has sent over dxf and igs files that i need to import into Lightwave, but when i try the dxf it comes in as a few points and nothing else?

Anyone know what i should do???

The igs just wont import.

Er, thanks, but i dont know if that helped at all?

Im just more confused now and think that the dxf wont work?

Its coming over from Alias Wavefront, is there a better way to export/import?

Can’t you use .obj ? That works perfect !!!

Hm, alias wavefront what? Maya, Studio?
If it is maya then I believe there are some MEL scripts out there that export lightwave objects, our you could try .obj.

Studio should be able to export .stl .
DXF works in a few cases, I’ve had nothing but trouble with DXF though (coming from a variety of packages), the same goes with IGES. I would let the package that created the file tesselate the model to polygons and export those.
