Import conversion, how do I get from one program to HASH

#1

I have models I have made with other programs and can export them as 3ds or OBj, but it will only get to 20% when I try to import them. They are rather large models, I am using 9.5. Any ideas would help in being able to get models into AM. I can model in one and would love to animate in AM but got to get the models over.

Does anyone know of a program that can convert to MDL, and either simplify the model so AM will take it? Please help if you can.

Basically looking for a conversion software, that gives you options.

Thanks in advance

Just a suggestion here, have you tried using Wings3D to translate them?

If they’re big models, chances are you’re not going to be able to get them into A:M, but Wings3D will allow you to open them up and then save them out as an A:M MDL file through a plugin filter (which last time I checked was included in the latest versions of Wings).

You can snag Wings from here… http://www.wings3d.com

I think maybe that is the problem, they are too big, is there a way to reduce them but keep the smoothness, change them into splines and get them over through wings, or is there any other way to do it? Any conversion software.

I was aware of the wings but it does not work. It worked for one model I had but AM handled it slowly.

Any conversion software anyone know of?
