import and export envelope weight maps in xsi?

Hey guys. I have to re-envelope/skin a model (I forgot to freeze transforms before i skinned the model and it exports incorrectly when i export animations etc)

In maya you can export and import your weight maps, can someone explain how I can do this in Xsi? :slight_smile:

To transfer weight maps between models use GATOR, it’s the best way.

or, in the weight editor “file > save preset”.

as toonafish said.
in the weithmap editor, when you open it, you get an excel sheet kind, of your points # and the corresponding deformer, usually bones (but can be anything)
say that sheet.

do what oyu need to do to your model, you can even fix and rearenge the bones, envelope again. and then just load your weight maps back again.
