I like mechs, too bad i cant show my new ones, here are some old ones i liked. :slight_smile: (my own design for a personal project i started awhile back)

is that a macross mech?

it also looks like the old transformers toy called jetfire (skyfire in the series)…

which i think was just a macross toy repackaged as a transformer anyway.

anyway… it looks good… as do all of the mechs in this thread.

curious… how long does it take you guys to do something like that? is it hard to do all of the little gears and pistons and stuff? what methods do you use to do that stuff? (subd’s, nurbs, etc.)

Yes it is a veritech from the Robotech series.
To answer your other question:
Actually to me the pistons,gears and other nurnnies are the best part. It gives your model real character. And they are so easy to make. My best friend is the bevel tool.

I agree, and its also alot easier to model once you have sketched out your model, sketching is my fav part
