Image theft...?

#1

Got pointed to this link where there´s a lot of recognizable 3Dwork for sale as wallpapers.
I doubt the artists have allowed him to do this.
Check out the 3D art section.

OMG, that site is poorly designed.

I doubt anyone would purchase anything from that site. Besides, most of the “art” is rather mediocre (Bryce anyone?).

“Origional Artist”, ha!

What an ugly site. Also, why would anyone actually PAY for wallpaper? What a lame idea. The wallpaper images mostly look really crap too.

I was rather amused at their copyright notice:

Copyright Notice: Please Read before ordering

When you purchase the wallpapers, it is not the wallpapers you are buying, but the time it took for us to collect them, create them and the materials and time to burn them onto a CD (DVD).

You only have the right to view them on your machine and for personal use on the same machine. The Art Work is copyrighted by the original Artist and the Wallpaper Design by CCCMC, and you do not have a right to share the wallpapers or to modify them or to use them in any document (electronic or paper or paperless), unless it in on your computer only and is not viewed by the public. You can not recompile them, sell them, loan them, copy them or distributed them in any manner. All of these pics are available on the internet for free if you choose to locate them and take the time to download them. You are paying for our time to do this for you. We are not selling you any rights to use them other than those that you would get by copying them yourself from the same source(s) on the internet. If you feel that you have work here in which is yours and that the copyright has been infringed upon, please contact us and we will discuss this with you. All Work on this site is from the fair trade policy and/or public domain then modified by us to become new original artwork. We do not relinquish the rights on said artwork and maintain our copyright on our work. If you do sell or make available in any other format (electronic, paper, paperless, website, peer-to-peer, etc or any other means) these pictures to anyone else you will then be buying a full license agreement for distribution at the cost of $1000.00 per set as detailed above. We reserve the right to charge you in any manor if you do so, including any means open to us, including legal action. If you have any questions, please contact us.

This is especially funny when you consider that they certainly didn’t buy the images in the first place, giving them no right whatsoever to distribute them, let alone sell them for profit.

Our Wallpapers are also Unique in that our copyright notice

falls under where the windows tool bar lays, and

not in the middle of the picture! In this manor

you do not see the copyright all the time!

bwahahaha! Wonder why?!

(really shitty site design aside from any possible copyright violations)

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA…HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA !!!

not much more to say to that.

This guy is worse than Dale Williams and his kind. He may try to convince that he respects the copyrights of the creators, but he is actually making money out of this “business”. I think this site needs to go down.

“We reserve the right to charge you in any manor if you do so”

Ha! Tough luck! I hardly ever go to large mansions!

But who wants to have wallpapers with a very wrong turquoise border and bad spelling on it anyway?

I also thought the site looked very bad, but then the background image loaded up… shudders

I can easily agree with everything above, and even though some of the stuff is “not that good”, this moron ripped of artists like Craig Mullins, David Michalczyk and more.
These people/pages just pisses me of.

#9

actually I thought he was making a confession.

#10

plug this thread so it will screw with his bandwith…

#11

that website is so lame!!

#12

and tell him that you are going to contact a lawyer for each and every artist who’s artwork he stole and put on his site…

#13

Criminals are a poor spelling and randomly capitalizing lot. I shall become. . . LETTERMAN!

#14

Mhaha, only now I discover the rest of the site (www.cccmc.com)!

Oh man, there is a D&D tools page that starts of with some shady guy called “Lord Greywolf” talking about making “easy money” by taking surveys.

He also sells air guns, car spoilers and swords. Heh, he even has a cheap looking porn section where you can see “English Tarts” and “South American Pleasers” amongst others. The strange thing is is that that section is free, an odd place indeed.

You can even buy a yourname @ certified-MCSE.net email address. Oh the cheapness.

And this must be the best part: he actually has his own webdesign company called “Lord Greywolf Productions”. Mhahaha, make it stop!

This is good stuff! I think I’ll explore more of that site everytime I feel down…

#15

 Wow, I thought this kind of cite only existed in my nitemares (poor spelling intentionally done… )

I guess adding a ludicrous teal-ish boarder enhances the “art” and makes it unique so they can “copyright” it? Jeez I wish I knew someone who was a lawyer!!

#16

Just noticed a stahlberg pic in there…

#17

are you kidding me. I would be angry about all tye copyright and illegal shit if it werent so dam funny. This guy seriouly has a webdesign company. :scream:   My god. I bet all the tazers and swords he sells are stolen. Your just paying for the time it took him to steal and compile them.

#18

You can say that again!

#19

I can’t believe that this person feels that HIS copyright of the manipulated images or set of images is valued at $1000 if the “new work” is used/distributed without permission, where using other artists’ work (“Artwork copyright by Origional Artist”) falls under fair use and so costs him nothing.

Definitely theft.

795470 people visited the Country Cyber Cafe Mall Court. I was just looking at some of the kickass wallpaper that they offered. Not only are they all 1024x748. But the images themselves are proportionly stretched to fit. especially in the cartoons section. I already bought 5 copies of the cd for $10.00 plus he’ll provide me with the software needed to create a slideshow screensaver too! What a bargain!
