I tried these things, but when you rotate to look at the plane from a more sideways angle, it is still much darker. So whilst it doesn’t go completely black, it’s still getting darker which is not right.
This does not happen with the Image planes, (Which is what I’m trying to re-create)
People use planes for effects like fire smoke etc too, but when you rotate the camera view, they remain at the same lighting levels, for example you’d never want an animated fire texture to get darker when you are viewing from more of a sideways perspective.
