IK Booster - help needed

#1

I’m trying to get IK Booster to work with the motion mixer but having very liitle success. It seems to work at first, but if you save and reload the scene, all the bones are totally messed up!

It also seems to lock all the bones out, so booster doesn’t work after creating your actor, unless you reset the bones to key control one by one. But obviously this is pointless if you have to reload your scene!

Has anyone successfully got IKBooster to work with motion mixer?

Try doing your animation(s) with IKBooster and then turn it off when using motion mixer.
Ive never used the two together but IKBoost creates standard LW motion keys that motion mixer can use.

Are the bones that you’re using assigned to a weight map? Try assigning the bones to a weightmap.

Tried all these options but no luck. The bones just don’t play ball when they’re reloaded.

I think the systems just don’t work together which is sad. I’ll have another go today and see if I can think of anything else!

What?? Systems not working together in Lightwave???

Unheard of!!

(sarcasm)

Ok, found out what the problem was. I had a few duplicate bones!

Few! - I was about to completely re-rig

I’ve found that if you do not rename your bones, then motion mixer will cause problems. For example, if you clone some bones, you will get names like “Bone[2], Bone[3]”. These will cause motion mixer to freak out like you experienced.
