ice strands getting through

#1

Hi,

I’m new to ice, and I was experimenting with strands. Could it be done, that strands don’t go through each other. Here is a rendering, so you probably could better understand my problem:

Is this possible? Like I said I’m new to this, and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I would be glad for any hint, link, tutorial or so.

Here is my ICE-Tree:

thank you

you will have to do something that checks the closest strand points and do a radius calculation to take it from inside of the other strand…
OR
when you draw the strand, you check the closest point at that location and offset the strand from that…

But this all depends on how much work you want to do, maybe you be better to just have a more aligned strand emission and a turbulence deformation into the strandposition array, which would help all strands offset more equally.
