Hey Jae1234, the reel is only necessary if you’re applying for anything other than Workshop 1. The reel is only used as a class placement and doesn’t dictate whether you’re accepted to iAnimate or not.
If you’re starting out then I would suggest you try for Workshop 1 as there isn’t any knowledge prerequisite.
Because iAnimate is no longer a school and now animation training. Your demo reel you submit for workshop 1 just has to show any type of animation you can or cannot do. iAnimate is training you in bettering your skill and you have to show where you skill is no matter what workshop you are getting into. Ken Fountain (another one of iAnimate.net’s instructors and DreamWorks animators) is coming out with training video. It’s not out yet (coming out soon) but has a nice teaser video for it. I’ve had the opportunity to have Ken as an instructor last Block at iAnimate.net, and he’s great when it comes to acting through your character. I just thought I’d share it with ya guys/gals.
