Thanks Lemog

Hey! some definitions for “dépouillement”!
When I ran “dépouillement” through BabelFish I got “dépouillement”. (it must have got ‘lost’ in translation …)

Lemog: Good good more color techniques

Mr. Mu: Keep it up man! Depression or feeling of failure is not accepted  Try to understand what makes a picture work. Break apart all forms and lighting directions before hand. It helps a lot.

To understand color just turn up saturation madly to see why colors are that way.

I felt really sluggish with these sketches. Had no time to color them.
Here is if lukx doing hes impress the chicks on the beach martial arts

Falcor - nice, I especially like the lighting on the last one :applause:
Lemog - good colours, interesting and original technique

Here are two more of mine…

I wasn’t going to post this because I went way over the 15 minutes (took me 50), but I think the 3rd frame into the gif was about 15 minutes, and I wasn’t satisfied with where it was at that point, and I kind of wanted to finish it. SO it’s a speedpaint, but not a 15 minute one. I really had trouble with Jackie’s features for whatever reason, and my gesture drawing wasn’t looking so great… anyhow, here it is.

and the animation

Falcor_ : thanks for kicking my butt. It’s always motivating and frustrating as hell to be surrounded by masters of a craftmanship you are about to learn, so… I had a weak moment.

If you love to draw, Then draw  - no matter how good you/anyone gets, there will alway be someone better!

no matter how good you/anyone gets, there will alway be someone better!

oh how true…

sets back to work

and, Gord, while I’m at it: next time you need a reminder what depouillement is either listen to Eric Satie, Arvo Pärt, or just watch that sketch of yours with the rugby player: leaving out all that is unneccesary and expand into the heart of things. What a sketch!

Shyam - you are doing the same thing. Total economy and clarity, especially in that first sketch…directly below your description saying last night’s crap:curious:

:scream:

#916

LOL Thanx Mr. Mu :stuck_out_tongue:

#917

Thanks Mr Mu.

Gord

#918

Always test… 10 mn in photoshop…

Shyam, I wanted to say earlier when going thru these posts, I’m extremely impressed with your technique and style. Keep rockin that pencil. Rebekka (am I spelling that right, I can’t remember), your knowledge of anatomy is grade A choice beef, chicklette, I just love looking at your posts. Anyhow, I’m trying to recruit as many people as I can to come here, I think it’s such an awesome way to not feel pressure and learn a few tricks. None of my charcoal drawings are gestural drawings (well I have some but those are from a few years ago, and I don’t think they can even be considered gestural :S), so for now I’ll just look at the thread

Lemog - nice spontanious feel - like a printmaking image.
