I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 2: Sketches

#541

posted for a vigorous admonition to myself to get better than this

is it actually possible to additionally collect all of the references in the first post or in a separate sticky for easy access?

#542

Good point about the Sticky…I’ll look into it with Queenie.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#543

Thanks Mr Mu.

25 min (so much for deadlines)

#544

Hehe, Charlie’s Angels, Gord? :stuck_out_tongue:

I like your digital pieces a lot! I feel like you have greater control over the medium ~ great to see your experimentation!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#545

another over 15 min (but under 1/2 hr)
I think I need a proctor to slap my wrist and tell ne to put my pen down.

#546

OMG - that is spooky - I just watched it before drawing!!!

Gord,

Re: Angels: LMAO! :scream:

Re: Drawing: Nice! I think the key with you is since you are experimenting so much, perhaps take things in two stages ~ the first stage where you get the basic stylization down (as you have above) and the second stage where you refine the piece in a second 15 minute session. I’ve seen you experiment a lot, which is fantastic, but one thing you could get trapped into is focusing too much on experimentation, and never taking any of the experiments to a finished level. You’ve got a great woodblock thing going on here in this last piece, and I would totally encourage you to explore it further / whittle it down a bit more to it’s bare essentials, and give it more expression.

Nice work!

Cheers,

~Rk

@Rebeccak Thanks for the welcome
@shyamshriram your a machine! very nice stuff your doing
@default.rol the skecth you posted in blue is good. You really captured all the variations in the edges, especially around the legs

#550

Rebecca - you have a good point. I am a definitely a divergent thinker.

speaking of divergence - here is another - and the first one today within 15 minutes!

Chinese ink on paper:

Trollboy: nice perspective

15 min.

With this short a time frame, I’m not sure if I should be sketching or trying to do quick paints. Sketches always turn out better ('cause I’ve done more of them) but they’re B&W and not always as pretty as paints.

Everyone,

I thought that it might be easier to have one thread devoted to the Reference Images for the 15 Minute Sketchathon, so that people do not have to go looking for them.

So ~ we’ll do this as a trial. If it becomes too confusing, we’ll remove this thread and go back to posting both Reference images as well as Sketches in one thread.

So ~ be advised:

There are now 2 Thread for the 15 Minute Sketchathon:

I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 1: Reference

For Reference Images Only!

[I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 2: Sketches](http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=295498)

For Sketches Only!

You are currently on the I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 2: Sketches thread.

#555

'K, Queenie, please post Reference images to this thread:

I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 1: Reference

With the thread title by date (-> 12.1.05 etc.). Thanks!!! You so rock!!! :bounce:

Cheers,
