, thanks for the crit, I will try making the heads larger in my next sketches. The medium is Corel Painter, and Im trying various things out in the sketches. For example the one you asked about was some sort of Ballpoint pen, with charcoal to block in some values, this time I used a 2B pencil and charcoal once again (in Painter). I would use traditional but I find it a pain in the neck to constantly find a scanner and bring em in to post. If I had one in my room I would use traditional a lot more for these…

I decided to enlarge the head on my last one and touch up a few details:

I think it looks a lot better. I like the way the 2B pencil feels in Painter, very smooth as opposed to the digital ballpoint pen I was using in my earlier sketches.
