Which Stylus did you end up getting for it?
I want to use the Apple iPad as a Cintiq
Actually I am not using a stylus anymore, I used to have a Pogo Sketch, but I seem to have lost it somewhere, so for the past… 8ish weeks I have been using my finger (on iphone) and I have become accustomed to using my finger.
Not to say i wouldn’t use a stylus, but I don’t really need one at this point, and with the bigger screen it is dreamy to paint on.
Is there a 2D animation app yet for the ipad? When there is I’ll run down to the apple store right now.
There is for the DSi, and it is free to boot. Actually the one for the DSi is pretty dang good.
Why would you do that and not provide a name or link?
What kind of evil [ insert funny sounding animal, vegetable or mineral name here ] are you?
Gah!!
D’ah, come on now, I want to see some pictures. I’m curious to see some results of ye old iPad or HP work. And by curious I mean I don’t want to search for it.
LOL I think Geta-Ve is referring to Flipnote Studio for the DSi. I was really impressed with this “losing light” music video made in Flipnote.
Oooo! Just checked out Flipnote’s website, and they feature a couple of shorts made by the folks over at Aardman Studios. Now how cool is that?
Very true! But man the iPad is nice to look at and nice to paint on… The screen size really beats out the DSi pressure sensitivity.
For me at least.
Here is my very first iPad brushes drawing.

I am terrible I know!
Awesome!
As I asked on youtube. How’s the brush engine? I remember seeing a video for SBP with the Ipad and it had a pretty decent brush engine. It faked pressure sensitivity too. (I think)
Not really sure what people mean by brush engine, but the painting works pretty well. There is a very slight lag in brushes, and a little worse in SBP, layers on the other hand paints really fast. Though its feature set is a little lacking.
SBP just received an update yesterday with some pretty sweet features. Like if you have the video out cord for the iPad you can hook it up to a monitor or tv and it will mirror your painting to that screen. It even hides the UI on the mirrored image so that you can, like, put on a show of sorts.
I find that SBP has, by far, the most brushes. But since I like the ability to play back my paintings I will stick with Brushes for now.
Well helloooooo there:

Pressure sensitivity for ipad. DO WANT!
It looked like there was a bit of a lag though before the paint stroke appears, that would drive me half mad.
adam
I have been sketching on my Ipad everyday for the past two weeks on sketchbook pro and brushes and the lag is hardly noticeable once you start drawing.
Very cool. Good work too. Somebody get Mullins an iPad!
Seeing that little iPad on an easel like that gave me visions of a massive 84x60 cm iPad more alike in size to conventional portrait canvasses.
looks fascinating, curious how they’re doing it with a capactive screen and what looks like a standard pogo. my guess is they’re doing a faked pressure measurement via surface area of contact, which would explain the whole palm exclusion thing as well.
pretty awesome, lets how the high priest of apple permits such unintended uses of his precious device.
there is a comment on the 10 1 site about the lag, supposedly the reason is that the drawing program demonstrated is a proof of concept they made and does not reflect the speed of the ipad or their pressure system.
Sorry!
