I need HELP with playblast

#1

I want to playblast and I get this message on the script editor all the time: “Warning: playblast can not create movies larger than the active view. Clamping values”.

I want to export the AVI file with 640X480 ratio, but I can’t because then when I check the ratio it’s actually 640x422. I don’t understand why, since I put everything correct in the render settings and the playblast options.

I have Maya 2011
PC: Windows Home Basic
I have 280 GB free in HD (I say this because some people told me that I would need more space).

This never happened before, but now it happens for all the scenes, new and empty. It doesn’t matter.

I hope anybody knows how to get through this.

playblasting all depends on the active window you are using in the viewport. if it is smaller than said resolution you will get that warning.

Go to the playblast option box and, click on compression, change the video type to Microsoft video

This should work

As mentioned above, this is clamping due to the active window size which is what Playblast uses, it’s basically a screnn capture from hardware. If you’re in quad modelling view then the active window will not allow you to get to 640*480 unless you’ve scaled the ui. Just use single persp view to stop it.
