3d track . Im gonna do a matte painting with this footage, so I wanted to track the fence I have on the foreground and replacing with something else.
3d track ! I wanted to do a matte painthing with this, so I wanted to track the fence on the foreground and I can replace it with sth else.
3d track , Im goin to do a matte painting with this footage. Therefore, I need to track the fence in the foreground and that I can replace with sth else.
next question, which software do you use?
i just loaded the clip from vimeo into nukeX, hit the autotrack and it gave me a resonable looking result.
I used nukex9 and gave some tracks as well but there are all not usable for the foreground since it shakes alot.
did you try a planar track to drive your rotos for the foreground?
i did a very fast test, got a decent looking track (for 5min work) and was able to do a roto for the fence. biggest problem here is the changing lensdistortion through the camera zoom
but with the planar track in place it was nearly 90% there
Did you start from the last frame with planar track ? so for this case I dont really needed a 3d track for my shot right ?
i started somewhere in the middle. at the start there is to less information and in the end i guessed it was to far away, which can lead to problems when you get closer.
i think you would need the 3d track because you need to move you new background according to the actual camera. in my example video you can see that my 3d track also is okay (for a “Hit auto tracking” approach)
the planar track will help you to roto you foreground. but if you have a good 3d track, a plane and the roto on that will do the same
i dont get it, so does he just need something to roto/get rid of the fence or does he need it for that AND to add in this supposed matte painting?
the planar track can help to roto the fence and girl
a 3d track is needed to replace the background with a new enviroment
Sometimes a too accurate roto can give you away. Maybe he should prefer keying over the planar tracker.
