I loved it. It’s one of those movies you get into or don’t. Like most Tarantino’s work I suppose. I liked the pacing mainly. It felt fresh and different. Yet the subject matter wasn’t trying to be new. It was a new take on it, and I bought it completely.
I just saw Kill BIll!!!!
I’ve seen it twice. I may go see it again. I really liked it. The second one in February is going to be even better. I have no doubts about that.
Wicked Flick:thumbsup:
Just saw it - have to admit I didn’t like it. Like most of the audience in the full theatre. It’s really like a lot of short movies and ideas thrown together into a film. And it really misses a story - even for an action flick. The main character does not evolve or change during the film. I guess the script was really short and meaningless.
And I wonder why everybody sees all the mistakes of filmmaking Tarantino makes as something great or his style. (bad continuity, strange acting, undynamic and boring endfight, lack of story, lack of his witty storytelling found in the other 3 films, …)
Better go and see Hero and Once upon a time in west, there you’ll get the things he tried to copy. Tarantino, I once really liked you and hope this is just a mishap you made. :hmm:
Saw it, it’s only half a film, the gore wasn’t my cup of tea. Very stylish in parts, and some of the fights were nifty (if waayyy too long), but felt like watching Neo fight in the Matrix reloaded, not much sense of believability in it, if she can take out a room or 50 guys then I mean where is the suspense???
The japanese guy was funny, and uma acted decently, just all the blood was a bit much.
So yeah, it was okay, nothing to write home about, style is nice but more substance and brains is needed to make a truly great flick, I still want half my ticket price back though for half a film, if your going to split the story up over a number of films you gotta do it better, but then there wasn’t really much story to split I guess.

the gore and all that was a tribute i guess to all kung fu flicks that inspired, or grew up watching, i think the movie was a success in that terrentino wanted to make his own kung fu flick.
Kung fu had crappy stories for the most part, it was all about the action. i think it was great, I enjoyed every minute of it.
I wasnt expecting a strong story line at all, but its okay, its that kind of movie.
If you want to see Quinton’s inspirations for the film, and get a little more out of it, for yourself, especially those who didn’t understand the inclusion of the swordmaker, or thought it was based on animes, check this link:

Movie just came out in UK last night - saw the 1st showing!! Well worth it!!
It’s always nice seeing products that don’t get watered down trying to please everyone!!
It’s making fun of a lot of older genre movies, but the problem is that not many people have seen these movies he’s referencing… so everyone is missing the point/joke.
It’s not like Scary Movie where they just make fun of movies that are a year old and blockbuster flicks.
BTW, that was cool to see the Battle Royale girl in it
Saw it today. Loved it. I’m not going to bother analysing it. I was skeptical of the 2-volume thing, but at present I think it works.
I’ll have to wait and see I guess…
saw it the other night. took me a while to get into (never having seen a tarentino film before his style was a little daunting to wrap my head around), but i ended up loving it! can’t wait for part II!!
Can someone tell me why everyone keeps saying it’s Tarantino’s 4th film when it’s really his 5th film, the 5th film actually being his first film, My Best Friends Birthday?
Just saw it and loved every single minute of it. So many awesome butt shots…whats not to love?! Pulp Fiction is still my favorite, but this is pretty close. Can’t wait to see the end!!! I would have had NO problem staying another hour and a half to watch the rest of this movie. I see a HORRIBLE trend starting…:shame:
Hey whadda ya know…500 posts
I didnt like it.
Ive seen better fighting, better stories and better dialogs. The best thing about the movie was the music and the cinomatographie. There are just a couple of elements in the movie where the typical Tarantino style comes thru.
But the worst thing is that it was split in two parts since the first doesnt have any real ending at all. I will never understand why Mirmax does these stupid things. I kinda feel ripped of.

:thumbsdow
Just saw it this weekend and was disappointed. I know Quenten likes to mix and match genres in his movies, but just didn’t think it worked in this one. Oh well.
They probibaly dont count the first one because it was like an hour and ten minutes long or so and had a very limmited release. Im sure they are talking about his bigger pictures under a lable.
hey i found the official kill bill thread i have to spill after watching this movie…
all this talk about what this movie would be without the action and violence… is a moot point. this is not what this movie set out to be. a movie with incredible substance and character developement that is. it is what it is… the cinematic ejaculation of a movie geek. this is one movie i totally agree about with the movie-insane harry knowles. i just love it for what it is
i don’t see this as a summer flick, but i got from this movie what i missed in all summer flicks this year. all of those left me with this empty feeling of ‘oh well’. let me call it underwhelming. kill bill was the complete opposite. it was just ‘hell yeah’ from the first minute to the rolling credits.
kill bill may not have a lot of character developement, the characters are simply put in their individual clearly defined situations and have to act them out. it’s all about that. it’s about that incredibly nasty thing that was done to the bride. she wants revenge for it, that’s the story, that’s how the characters work. no need to ask for any more story. there are other great movies that take care of that.
after my first kill bill screening all other movies seemed kinda superfluous though. this movie is simply so ‘entertaining’, fun, stylish and overwhelming. you can literally feel that the crew working on it loved working on it. i’m a big fan of tarantino’s first 2 movies and i love how this movie is totally like and unlike those movies. it’s the tarantino evolution baby. awesome flick. awesome!
here’s one official kill bill lover.
I hate QT’s films.
I can’t stand him either.
He is one sick-f***…
…KILL BILL IS THE F***ING BEST FILM I’VE SEEN ALL YEAR!!!
It was two-fingers up to the Matrix - and it was wonderful to see a film that isn’t over-flooded with computer-effects…
For his Directorial skills - I respect QT. He is above all else a very talented man. Gotta give him credit where credit is due…
boone, i think i get your point… but just to make sure i don’t get you wrong…
is the first part irony or did you really not like QT’s previous films?
