HYe,
I’m new to Wings and I don’t understand how to use the magnet tool. I read a tutorial demonstrating how to model mushrooms and finally using the magnet tool… But don’t understand. Would explain it to me please
1001 Thx

uhh…I think you can enter tweak mode by pressing T
then, press 1 to activate magnet mode.
yup, and then when you see the blue circle you can either hit + or - to increase/decrease the area influrence…
And for using magnets with everything else,
try holding down Alt while clicking on the command.
For example…create a sphere…smooth it once.
Then just select a face or two,and move normal or something.
Just hold the Alt key when you click on the command,
and you’ll pop into secondary selection mode.
This is where you select the range of the magnets falloff.
Select an element somewhere on the model,
and then rightclick to execute the magnet move.
You can then click on 1-4 to change magnet modes and stuff as well,
and use +/- to change the influence within the radius specified.
Hope that helps some…

I don’t think Tweak is assigned to any hotkey (by default) - but you could do so if you wanted (check ‘help’ for assigning hkeys)
A bit more magnet info on the ‘Magnets’ page - see link below.
Welcome aboard and happy winging

No… it doesn’t work. I use WIngs 0.98.22 on WinXP Pro Service Pack 1. Pressing T doesn’t enter into Tweak mode (I’ve to take it in the menu)… Also pressing + or - shouldn’t work ? But being in the tweak mode the magnet tool [1] is turned on.
Uhh…I don’t think you should use the + and - on the numpad…I think only the other ones work.
Yes, good idea… I tried, no results
Reading at once all your explainations, I’ve never seen the “blue circle”.
At toolbar, try click on tools and verify at right of tweak if there is a hotkey associated to him.
Call tweak by mouse (tools|tweak) and keep eyeball on information line (at botton).
Verify if your CAPS LOCK key is on… In this case, the hotkeys dont work commonly.
