Hi All, im a new member and kind of a Noob so please bare with me,
Im using 3DS Max for all my CG Needs, I’m coming from C4D.
All my CG is for compositing into videos. So far I’ve had no problem with boujou to 3DS max and so forth and loving 3DS. However i ran into a problem today i haven’t been able to figure out.
Im working on a project and in this project theres a scene where a guy jumps into a wall, (real life video footage of him jumping and slamming into a wall), When he hits the wall I’m wanting to use Ray Fire to simulate that area of the wall breaking and showing bare concrete underneath. So far everything is great with the Simulation and texture underneath. However my problem lies with texturing the wall ontop. I need the wall on top to match the wall in the video that it will be composited over. So when the pieces fall they will match exactly like the real wall that was there before it. I tried an environment bitmap with the video underneath and its what i need however “screen” mode does not stick when the pieces fall it just shows whatever part of the video the pieces are covering. I need to find a way to lock this so even when the pieces fall the texture of the original wall is showing on them as if they were real.
Sorry if this is a confusing way of saying something simple but its the best way to describe it, or at least best way i could come up with.
This clip below of corridor digital is exactly what I’m trying to re-create. The walls really there he hits it and the texture of the wall stays on the pieces as they fall.

Thanks for anyone that can help me with this, I’m under the gun so the faster the response the better.
Thanks a million,
Joe
