how to model this in rhino

#1

Can someone tell me some methos to create a model like this in Rhino?

It’s the part with the crossing structure I’m interested in. It has an ovcerall form that I could make in Rhino pretty easily I think, but skinning it with that structure, or converting the shape to a latticework structure like that is the question. It looks like a meshed surface, but How would you turn the mesh structure into actual 3D objects.

There are two sets of lattice/panel tools available both “fairly” straightforward to use.

1.http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.aspx/McNeel/ArchCut.html

2.http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.aspx/McNeel/PanelingTools.html
2b. some details-.http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.aspx/McNeel/PanelingCommands.html

The second one is the more recent… -both need rhino 4 sr3.

Once any basic lattice template is made the next step is to either pipe the lines/curves that are produced by the lattice plugin or set up a custom profile- strut/pipe if you want to.
