how to determine scanlines and their order in dv material?

Hi folks,

I got “unknown” dv clips in a project. For rendering and editing I would like to determine
the scanline order, if there is any… Since I don’t know if the material was recorded progressive.

Is there a free tool for mac, which is able to read the specifics of dv material?
