How to create infinite White floor in arnold ?

#1

Hey everyone, what is the way to create infinite white floor in arnold? I’ve tried couple stuff such as background shader but it didn’t work out for me. Thank you all in advance

You could always do it in post, at least I would, or you could bend a simple plane that’s been subdivided several times. If you’re concerned about shadows, render those out separately and comp them together in whatever program you’re using for compositing.

Infinities don’t actually occur in nature, or in dynamic space, so obviously it would have to be a workaround. But since you can’t render out to infinity (impossible), I’m curious why a very large plane wouldn’t work? You cannot reach infinite distance, no matter how long you animate. Perhaps you didn’t really mean “infinite”?

You can absolutely render to infinity ! A geometric plane has no boundaries hence it extends indefinitely and so it’s infinite. In CG just evaluate the hit between a background ray (doesn’t hit the scene) and a ground plane. however afaik it’s not natively available in arnold.
