How to combine texture with alpha (on top layer) and another material bellow? Redshift help needed please :)

Hello community, i can’t figure it out how to combine one texture (with alpha) to be somehow placed on top of layer stack where there will be another one material bellow that texture?

I have one material with some settings and i would like to put on top of it another texture with alpha channel and proper UV mapping… to be able to make various version of that material and not do it inside of Photoshop.

I have tried nodes like: color layer, material blender and so on and nothing worked for me :frowning:

I ended up with those nodes and it works

You can do it a couple of ways. If you just want a decal, use the colour blender. If you need a separate material stacked on top of another (for example because you want to blend the refraction/etc channels), use the material blender.

In theory you can use an image with an alpha channel to do the blend, but I’ve found that can give inconsistent results, so I tend to use a black and white image instead.

You don’t need the ray switch unless you want a different colour on either side of your geometry.
