How to assign material to instanced geom

Hey all,

Here is the problem. I have a shack I’m making out of pretty basic
geometry and I have some good materials on the walls, doors, roof,
etc. I have used the voronoi script to fracture all my shack, and all the pieces are being used in an array in the birth script.

I have a tornado that is using a rotating deflector as collision to rip
apart the shack as it moves through. This side of things is all good,
it’s just that I can’t think of how to make my materials stay on these
instanced chunks.

I hope this makes sense. And isn’t too silly a question :slight_smile:

Go get ‘Deconstructing the Elements 3rd Ed’. With it you’ll get (among other valuable things…) access to a Video Tutorial that explaines how to make a tornado destroying a barn…

Basically, instead of instancing the geometry with PFlow, it uses a script operator to bake the motion of the particles into the original barn geometry. Do a search and you’ll find similar scripts in this forum…(there’s one thread about particle materials not far below yours, where I posted a script based on that tutorial…)
