How many subdivisions for creating displacement map is ideal?

Hi, I am noob. I might be mistaken, but to my understanding, the higher res the base mesh the more accurate/detailed the results will be after applying the displacement map. My question is, generally speaking, after you have finished sculpting in the detail with your highest subdivision model in Zbrush, how many subdivisions do you go down to make as your base mesh, so that it doesn’t lose too much in detail/quality?
