How is 10.5b9 on your Mac? or PC, and is the list down?

Hi, I haven’t posted here in a while, since I went back to the list. I thought I’d test the waters over here. I have been using 10.5b9 on a Mac OS 9.2.2 andall has gone well until I started using blobbies. My project got corrupted and I can’t do much without it quiting on me. I sent a report to suport, but haven’t heared back yet.

How do you guy’s fing 10.5 in general, Mac or PC. I am reluctant to try too much because I don’t want to do a bunch of work and get stuck again. Actually, I am rebuiding the project in 8.5.

Also, I haven’t had any list mail since 11 this mornig, I gather the list is down.

Cheers, Graham

Graham,

Don’t forget that 10.5 is still beta. Even though it is more stable than some of the release versions we’ve had, it’s still not a good idea to do a big job or paying job with beta software.

As far as stablity on my Mac, it’s great. Well, except for the progressive render and the render lock can’t be stopped unless I force an error by holding down the shift-Q keys until the error happens. I guess I should send this in as a bug report.

I haven’t tried blobbies, so I’m not able to help with that.

so far 10.5 is not bad, but if you really work in it, you find some bugs…

at the moment I prefere v10.0 which is really stable on my pc, there aren’t many really hard bugs…

I’ve been staying current with the betas as they come out. The most recent does seem more stable than the previous couple. I haven’t tried cloth or rigid body yet, but the other dynamics systems (springs and the new dynamic constraint) appear to be inoperative right now. I’ve mostly been toon rendering and in prior betas, the multi-pass feature did NOT get along with toons but now it seems to do alright.

I’m using a PC with NT (ugh).
