How good is Messiah with multiple character scenes?

So, I need to know… How good is messiah with multiple character scenes? The reason I’m asking is that for our last film we had up to 10 characters in the same scene at one point and it absolutely ground lightwave to a halt. Messiah is very quick in general but what about multiple character scenes. Can I expect it to handle 4-5 characters and still be a fairly fluent character animation package?

I’ve had 4 characters in messiah and there was no sign of slowdown to the level of LW.

I done a LW scene with 15 characters in the one scene :banghead:
So i know how you feel and Messiah isn’t like that

PLUS even in the worst case you have much better ways to control it in messiah.

You have no idea how glad I am to hear that. :bounce: Is messiah better at not computing hidden stuff, or is it just because it’s already so fast that it can just take it on the chin?

If I need to animate two characters in relation, I need to have them both in the same scene.
Otherwise, I bake all character with PointOven and concetrate only on the protagonist that I am animating.
Messiah flies in the latter scenario.

messiah and XSi are around the same speed
and I think it’s mainly due LW’s IK, deformation, motion/expression systems is just slow
and we think others have the same issues…when they simply don’t,

add to that even Daz studio and Poser can move those characters pretty quick.
I HAVE only noticed slowdown when you really start to load up the polygons ( there are always limits ) but there are always options to keep the speed up as well.

any CA focus system has to put these issue up the top so it isn’t a huge problem.
