How do you do Cloths in Motionbuilder or softbodies/Fluids?

I was just wondering how in motionbuilder do you lets say a character has a tie on make it move like a normal tie would with turns and runs automatically. In some motionbuilder training DVD done by Alias they mention briefly that you can do cloth stuff in MB but dont go into detail about it, plus seem demonstrations in my uni of a creature (think it Gaunt) whos like eye lobs or some skin on him like moves automatically. How do you do this in MB?

Also can any sort of soft bodies or fluids be done in MB, such as making a surface look like mud or like a little puddle etc.

Plus I do ask the cloth think because Altair from Assasins Creed was apparently animated in MB and he has quite a complicated cloth attire.

The short answer is you don’t, this would be done as a post process (maya/max etc.) or in the case of Creed, done in the game engine with bones and physics, or with simulations baked on to bones.

The longer anser is that there are people working on some plug ins to do basic cloth in MoBu but it still would not be the same as running a nCloth sim on it.

You can create some fake cloth like movement with bones and the relations constraints, 3d dampen etc. but not a real simulation. (most likey what was used on the Gaunt. char.)
