How do you do art

#15

They sold Dasani for 1 week in the UK and then it got banned.

#16

What a miraculous drink it is that Dasani? We don’t have it in our banana republic. :surprised

#17

I know how you can make some Dasani at home, Buy a filter at the food store for ten dollars, and our some nice fresh tap water from your sink tub or toilet what have you. Ta DA ! Dasani!

:stuck_out_tongue: Spring water is nice as well. But no distilled, yuck

How do I make art?

  1. I crap in a small metal can and label it Artist’s Shit!!!
  2. I uproot a urinal and put my name on it!!!
  3. I take people’s picture many many times and put them all on a big big canvas with different colors!!!
  4. I take a bucket of paint and throw it at my canvas!!!
  5. I take some cow shit and throw it at something religious!!!
  6. I take anything and throw it at something religious
  7. I take something even simpler than a urinal and put my name on it!!!
  8. I trick some sculptor into making a carving and then SMASH the thing into tiny pieces and put my name on it!!!
  9. I make a video of me shooting a bullet at my friend’s hand!!!
  10. I make a video of some dude sleeping for 6 hours!!!
  11. I take soil from outside the musem and put it inside the museum and of course, PUT MY NAME ON IT!!!

Sorry for breaking the flow of the thread.

I Think I have no Imagination :frowning:

I’m a really bad Creator but a technical artist. so I don’t create.

#20

this my expression when I work :arteest: and this is after work :curious:

#21

I just got mah-shelf som kewl stuff.

Five cans of ‘bullit’, for today’s session. It’s got a print of DaVinci’s dude in a square and a sphere drawing on it. Never figured out why anyone would want to paint someone in that pose, lol. Maybe for making snow-angles though.

Taurine and caffeine, lotsa…

#22

I guess my secret weapon is coffee, Hans Zimmer’s music and huge amount of classical music.

That’s about it  I tend to be most productive during the nighttime.

#24

Dude, that’s too dangerous for both the heart and brain. Try hard to reduce it to a normal level asap.

#25

I guess it should be bad since it’s excessive, but bad for my brain? :surprised

I’ll see, I hope I can do without, lol.
Since doing some work again during the day I’ve switched to booster drinks.

I’ll give it a go though, I know I should.

#26

I sit on a comfortable sofa with my laptop and the t.v

Oh and my trusty Wacom

Gah, I’m such a slob :stuck_out_tongue:

#27

I eat lots of junk food. Also teh tarik, which imo is better than coffee (makes me hyper and nervous and insomniac). Studio workshops are really good to help force me to draw  Everything is so quiet…

helicopterr, welcome to the main bulk of high school art theory :arteest:

#28

Copious tea, cgtalk and whole lotta music makes my world as I art.

#29

Darn I learned that in my fourth year in college…that me, always a step behind the avant garde :banghead:

#30

Sex is my inspiration. No really it is.

#31

well like alot of people i listen to music
if im really concentrating and doing a realistic portrait i like quiet and calm music, like just pianos or something :surprised
but generally i listen to metal, and im definately much more productive at night

#32

Yeah, I’m also more productive at night, when no one is around shouting at me: wtf are you doing again OR stop wasting your time go out and see some people. I listen to movie sound tracks and watch extremely stupid movies to learn what not to do and how it should be done according to my vision

I used to drink a lot of Pepsi, not anymore…now I drink a lot of water
I read penguin and wordsworth popular classics
I listen to audio lectures on various topics for half an hour, sometimes while working

#33

A bit vague I guess… there’s no “rights” to that question anyways  Well, I really don’t have a certain set “ritual of making artwork” - but I did realize that exposing myself to books, thoughts, music, movies… influences me! Makes me open to more ideas. To me it feels like that the less i experience, the bigger the chance of an artist´s block! On the other hand, I personally feel that listening to music while I’m making art somehow influences me badly: I’m being biased by someone else’s song or movie playing in the background.

No gear (slows you down and dulls the senses), no cigs (you keep stopping to spark up instead of staying in the zone), no booze either - just a cup of tea, cool sounds and no distractions.

That does it for me.
