How about some positive stories?

You pay for what get.

Ok that’s unfair, I use and create open-source software, but every Linux distro I’ve ever used has been uninstalled because they’re such a pain in arse. I’m currently using CentOS at work and I despise it, I had it on my home machine for grand total of 4 days - the reason I removed it? To install wireless drivers I had to recompile the kernel…

yeah i know, having working everything in linux is not easy, but that’s why i was happy, becuase i can finally run the apps i want after a hard battle. (now the problem as i can see is that PRman is not that easy either hehe)

Yay!

edit:
Yay! I spoke too soon but I will say I learned from it anyway to stay positive. Yeah.

I sold a feature treatment last week, and I’m contracted to write the screenplay. Best of all, the studio seems to like me and what I do.

I thank God for the opportunities that he has laid out in front of me, especially for the last 6 months.

I’m very happy my animation was just chosen as a runner-up in CERN’s Large Hadron Collider short film contest. I didn’t win a trip to Switzerland, but being recognized by such an esteemed institution is pretty sweet.

The movie should be posted to their site soon. It’s on youtube now:

Good news.

I hated my job but was afraid to go looking in this lousy economy but I also new that i was probably going to get laid off some time this year (place isn’t doing well at all). so I got laid off in late may but I found a new gig that I really like before I had even finished my old gig. In this economy too! The best part of it is, after they laid me off a bunch of people quit so my boss calls me and asks me if I will stay. I very politely said ‘no thank you’. New gig is going great.

oh, and I got my first freelance 3D gig in June. It was a small one but it went well and the designer i worked with loved my work so now I have one more person to help me network for more gigs.
