I was born in the year of the rabbit and the month of Cancer. So a combination of those two themes.
My basic idea is a humanoid rabbit in traditional Chinese warrior garb. Or at least the way movies portray these uniforms. His clothes, armor and weapons etc. will be adorned with elements of crabs and iconography of Cancer.
I’ve been collecting reference material but nothing that really says, “Oh yes, that’s the one.”

I haven’t found reference for the rabbit man I really like yet. I know what I want him to look like in my head but finding that is difficult.
Edit: I should probably mention that while I love Usagi Yojimbo, that is not exactly what I’m going for.
Best concepts I’ve found so far for the uniform I want is from Age of Wushu.

He will definitely carry a jian of some kind with the symbol for cancer on it. And no, I did not know the proper name for a “chinese” sword before this project. 
I love how much you always learn while trying to figure out how to build something.
Wellllllll, I was hoping to find time to work on this but Baton Rouge just went underwater and my house probably has 6-7 feet in it. So probably not.
