I wonโ€™t be about to start on this until next week but I wanted to go ahead and post the thread with the selected image I have chosen. I could not find the color version online so I just scanned it out of the book I have.

Papoose Room , Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico, c. 1947

I really look forward to see how your gonna pull this off  Do you have a good idea how to achieve this, I mean modelling wise? loads of Zbrush modelling? I wish you the best of luck and enjoyment with this project. Regards
Anders

Yes, this looks like a ZBrush project to me. I look forward to your posts.

#5

yeah this is going to be fun to do i can tell, canโ€™t wait!

#6

yeah I plan to start with max to get general shapes and layout and then take it to zbrush only because I very comfortable in max but zbrush 3.5 has all those new cool brushes that will be perfect for this.

Zsketch on this piece would be amazing. :applause:

I am still planning to do this challenge but I have another deadline that is before this one so I have not done much on my caverns cave

I did work a bit on the top plate base mesh of the picture

I divided it in colors to make it easier to visualize the different levels

the other project I am working on is similar it is an ice cave which is actually good practice for this challenge because they are similar and I could probably reuse the wall base meshes for the background walls for this one maybe I thought I post my base mesh assets for my ice cave show that I am actually still here.

It looks like your getting somewhere now, thats a nice basemesh you got there should be strait forward to get some good detailing going on that. You are going to be a cave expert when your done with those two projects  Keep up the good work, regards
Anders
