probably the more crazy the better (for me 3)

#4

for number 3 to work you would have to sculpt yourself on a toilet.

#5

SOB! :stuck_out_tongue: haha just kidding, anyhow good luck and will be nice to see how you do yours.

#6

Haha great reference Wyatt. This is fun seeing what everyone looks like in real life! Good luck!

After seeing Robo’s idea about adapting the sculpt to modernize it I’ve changed my concept. It will still be based off of the Caesar sculpt but I’m going to turn it on it’s ear a bit.

I started prototyping using ZSketching. So far, I’m not getting good results from this tool. Granted I’m probably not going to be the person to make the grand discovery on how to use ZSketching but gah, its pretty bad.

The rig is standard. The sketches look odd but I really just want to use them to build up the bulk of the model to sculpt on top of it.

At least that WOULD be the idea if the topology produced wasn’t such trash. If you have to retopologize the entire model it seems to me to be faster just to poly model the entire thing or use the adaptive skin and forget the ZSketch.

This is the part about the zsketch that I like. Bind the mesh to the armature and you can pose it fairly easily.

Ah well, guess I’ll wait till someone better at experimenting figures it out.

Well, your results thus far do look pretty cool even though I’m guessing that look isn’t exactly what you are going for. I would second that working with those zspheres 2.0 or whatever is pretty tough. It’s a great idea but you get really weird edgeloops and I’ve just found it kind of hard to really control. More of a super concepting tool I guess. Still, I’m sure some people, perhaps you, will eventually start coming out with some really incredible work using it.

I applaud you for going that direction. Should still create an interesting piece. I’d recommend letting any unexpected stuff that it gives you influence how you proceed through each step of development. Sometimes it’s fun to be motivated by your mistakes or artifacts of your work.

#9

well this outta be interesting…
=)

#10

It is great to see you trying the new zsphere things, looks hard to use. I was wonderin how the topology would look, thanks for posting that too. Odd, it seems so messing in areas that you would think it would be easy to translate. Since the mac version will probably take a while, you all can figure it out first! Love to see your progress. The rigging sorta feature seems fun. I am looking forward to seeing your progress and new direction you are taking your model.

#11

Well I recognize the pattern. It’s the same grid pattern that previous versions of ZBrush would produce after an adaptive skin. What I don’t know or understand, I’m sure there is a good technical reason, is why the topology doesn’t at least conform to the shape of the zspheres in the sketch. That would be tons better.

#12

At this point you might be thinking, “What the…”

Trust me, this is going somewhere.

#13
