Great choice, you will have a lot of fun doing him.
And you will have a full spectum of expression with him, his filmography is quite wide.
Good luck.
Seven Pounds would be a great ref for lots of great expressions, really loved that movie!
The model is very nice so far, keep it up!
turx : thanks for encouraging
ya seven pounds is seriously a fabulous movie. but that movie made me really sad. i felt so much for the character , that shows his acting abilities. amazing actor!
on the other day i was wondering how some actors become even more popular by losing their life in the movie. take Leonardo de caprio for instance , he dies in blood diamond, romeo and juliet , titanic , departed…
anyway i kind of adjusted the proportions a bit on my model and did the ears. still chasing likeness. oh god !

orthos which is used were not perfect there were slightly off ! so i had to adjust a lot and required a lot of head scratching. but sometime we model as per the reference images but there is something missing always. i am still searching for the characteristics… damn it !
I’m glad someone is doing Will Smith. One of my favorite actors. The likeness is defintely getting there. Keep it up!
Cool, it’s definitely recognisable as Will Smith.
Without looking at any pictures of him, the thing that seems to stand out the most is the eyes feel kind of high up on the head. Typically the tear ducts are roughly half the height of the head, and yours are a bit higher than that. Looking at a picture of him now, and he seems to conform pretty closely to the norm.
I think the distance between the bottom of the nose and lips might be sliiightly too long on yours, so if you bring the nose and eyes down, that might help. If you pull up the top of his head to move the eyes to half way, I’m not sure whether that would make his head too long, and then you’d need to widen him a bit. Might be worth playing with though. Hmm looking at it again now, maybe the ridge where the eyebrows will sit is too high above the eyes too. If you pull that down too I think it will help.
The other thing that stood out without looking at a picture of him was the eyes being slightly too far apart. Looking at a picture of him though, they do seem kind of far apart, so maybe thats nothing, but might be worth bringing the tear ducts in a tiiiiny bit.
Last thing that I just noticed whilst looking at that is the width of his chin. He has a massive chin! It’s quite distinctive of him, so maybe you can push yours even wider than you have it now.
Hmm sorry I’ve written quite a lot there. I might be off on those things anyway, and you’re already honing in on a likeness, so very nice job
I think you are doing a great job so far. It looks very much like him. Perhaps you could post some wires so we can take a look at your poly layout.
Cheers and keep it up.

LordMcGoat: thanks lordmcgoat ! your analysis is very helpful coz i wondering why it is still not looking like him . i Will definetely take ur suggestion into account.
hey ur youngbale in cool man…
RageofAges : thanks man! i will definetely post the wireframe .
if u see the first model and this one, it is huge difference. at one point i thought of just ditching the model and redo it again but correcting a model is much more useful than doing it again. it is frustrating but thats how it is …
