Those boots are killer! I love the little rebel insignia! This looks so amazing with all the textures and the skin shading is great! You and Albert have some blood to spill before the champion is chosen.
HMC #17 Star Wars SteamPunk - Princess Leia
OMG this is amazing. Keep it up man!!! It’s awesome.
Thanks… I can’t wait to see the wires
Great stuff! Deserves to win!
Love it. You’ve really captured Carrie Fisher’s eyes. Looking forward to some posed images. More renders please!
What else do you plan to build for this project?
thanks for the comments guys. here is a test render with some better lighting and the wip pose. i brought my laptop to work so i can render throughout the day. i will be posting right before the deadline once again…

wow really impressive, definately a front runner there.
small thing though, is here thumb interecting through the scroll?
I gotta agree with DDS. The one thing that always impresses me more than your modeling and rendering skills is your ability to take your material to a presentation level. You show so much professionalism by doing so. Can’t wait to see the finals renders!
SHhhwwing! Haha. Awesome renders man!
Just one small thing. I’m sure you’ll fix it. The thumb on the left hand is crashing through the scroll:)
Edit: Oops. Its been mentioned already:P
yes the pose is not complete, so there is clipping. what was it in the other renders that made her look pretier?
it maybe is the blue light, that makes her look “colder”, maybe a warmer lightcolor would make her look “nicer”
Yeah, I think it boils down to the light setup. She feels kind of washed out and the blue light does change the mood. I just feel overwhelmed by this light setup. The last one really “showed her off” and all of the modeling and details. Her skin also feels more translucent and less tangible than the last renders, and I think that is in part due to the light setup. The shadows also kind of throw it off. There is a casting from the light coming from the upper right of the image, but then there is the shadow casting in the back left hitting the floor. The floor shadow is really soft and the other shadow is really sharp, i.e. the cast coming from her exposed leg hitting her gown. I hope that makes sense.
B tracks the most attention to the model. So B is the greatest.
Awesome work RedRepublik. I love it.
Can’t wait to see some wires and the next update!
There are parts I love of both of them. The main thing is the backlight and the background in “B”. The backlight really adds to the helmet, hips, and breasts. The background also adds a great mood. But in “A” there is great specular detail on the corset that is lost in “B” but looks great on the boots in “B” but not present in “A”. I love the highlights on the seal on the scroll and her gloves in “A” that are not in “B”.
Ah, you know what man… f**k it. You’re a pro, you’re employed, I’m not. You do amazing work, go with your gut. I know you’ll come out on top. Hopefully my rantings of disillusionment didn’t set you back.
