WHAT IS LUMA
As the country’s premier festival dedicated to projection mapping, LUMA is proud to tell stories through the intersection of art and technology. Typically presented in an emerging rust belt small city in Upstate New York, artists and art-seekers from all over the world converge on Binghamton every September and use its historically unique downtown cityscape as a mapped projection canvas drawing audiences of over 50,000 attendees.on which they bring to life a wildly diverse selection of original features that uniquely combine art and technology.
In 2020 we’re taking a radically different approach. We’re adapting in response to the current health climate and incorporating XR to redefine what it means to connect through live events. In redefining our festival structure we aim to shape the future of live events as a digital/XR platform.
