Hide?

#1

is there a way to hide faces of a model so they wont get in the way? That would sooooo be useful.
on a side note anyone know how to move a vertex along a edge?
also, is there a way to make a poly planar, ie force the selected verts to be planar with each other?
Thanks in advance, I appologize if these questions were asked already.

I don’t know about hiding faces but I the way to force faces to be planer is by using the Flatten tool. Sellect the poly’s you want and right click and choose flatten. I believe there is a way to move verts along an edge but I can’t help you there…yet  .

Hope I helped some.
Cheers!

To hide faces in Wings (0.98.28b), just select the faces >RMB> Hide. To see the faces again, in Body Mode, select your object > RMB >Show All.

I hope that can help you.

It is possible to move a vertex along an edge using vertex->intersect->stay on line
but you need to have/create a plane (that the edge will pass through) at the point where you want the vertex to be. This may or may not be what you’re after…

  1. select the vertex
  2. right click move in the context menu
  3. select the edge along which you want to move (a blue arrow should appear along the edge)
  4. right click to confirm
  5. drag your mouse to move along the edge
  6. left click to finish the command

Its just a simple vector operation - may not be what you are looking for but it works.
