Hi there Society

#1

I gotta join this community and want to give my tribute to this great place of information and helpful nice people… and finally say Hey-Hello .
I’m doing freelance 2d illustration for years- 3d(C4D) is taking more and more place the last years (first mainly print) diggin my nose into the animation stuff at the moment.
I’m active at 3dattack as moderator and tutorial-writer for the 3dattack e-zine.
Furthermore I’m teaching communication design at a private university in Dortmund.
I was a lazy poster so far but like to work on it  Sure to make some new CG-friends- dreaming of polygonal issues like me

Hello, I study in Québec and I’ll learn C4D in 3 months at school.
Is it a good software ?
Is it better than another 3D software ?

And of course, you will have a good time in this place.

Hi Landrym,
C4d is a tool that allows you to do great things with first of all.
“Is it better than another 3D software ?” Its up to you/the user ;)… as every other tool it needs fascination and patience to master it for visualizing your visions ;)). Next to the other big 3d packages like Maya, Max or Lightwave it was the most sympathic 3d-app to learn intuitively for me (try and error works here better than in other packages imho) and so I think its a great app to start doing 3dart. Furthermore its a great modeling tool since R.9. The character animation(Mocca) is quite painfull to master at the mom but Cactus Dans IK Tools or export to motionbuilder works nice. The renderer is very good(imo), fast and stable.
Have fun learning it!(its worth it)

Hi Landrym-
just google “C4D tutorials” and you’ll find lots of it- and interesting C4D forums.
Furthermore you’re able to follow even maya modeling tuts since C4DR.9.
Every forum offers lots of tutorials and is linked to more stuff
Imo this is THE non plus ultra forum whatever application you like to learn- take a look in the application specific areas.
