HH-60G Pave Hawk MEDEVAC

@pauljs75:  Hehe maybe I do a small shot, flying trough flowers with a childish background music :stuck_out_tongue: Yes maybe I should do some research where oily leaks could appear visible on the hull.

Currently still thinking about shots fitting to music and so on :stuck_out_tongue: I have something in my head but damn, that´s going to be a lot of work

I hope I can post something to watch soon!

Thanks to all for visiting my thread!

Cheers
André

You’re nuts…

It’s awesome!!!, If I were you I’d go and look for a job in Hollywood or so…man, seriously. I have never sene something so beautiful!!

Can you maybe give some tips how to start on a heli like this??

#323

This is the BEST work ever! :bounce: Keep up the good work! We need to start seeing the little pilots and crew!

You ROck! :buttrock:

#324

@Drowned-Fish: Thanks for the nice words  Hmm maybe you ask more specific things, it´s hard to describe how to do all. Best thing would be to get some blueprints and map them on some planes as a guide.

@echotalon: Thanks! Yes it´s time for doing the crew now (or soon  )

I have a shot in my head which includes some small characters walking in the background. I´m not sure if I really do this shot but the small characters are something I´m interested in.
I havn´t done character animation and/or cloth simulation before (just a bit reactor-playing) so here´s inflexible looking footstep-result. Damn playing with cloth is so much fun and I missed it the whole time… I hadn´t any cloth-errors and that started to scare me! 1/2 day of work here.

Quicktime approx 1,8MB
Imagine dust and sand coming from left to right.

I continue experimenting now

Cheers
André

Very nice model, I like it alot:)

I’ve only got 1 crit, it seems that the right bottom side of the “dress” doesnt mode left, as the strength of the wind isnt constant.

Other then that: Awesome as usual

#326

WTF, you just “did” that cloth animation in half a day without errors, and without having done it before? Dude, you have got to write a tutorial on that!

Looking forward to the chopper whirling up dust in Basket-on-your-head Town.

Cheers,

  • Jonas

#327

Oh man that’s gonna work!!! As a background figure - not drawing any attention to itself - perfect!

You’re an inspiration to us all!

Cheers

Das ist ja alles so krass geil, das gibt’s ja gar nicht! Junge, geh nach Hollywood!

#329

Agreed :), They would welcome you with open arms

#330

Looking good. The anim is pretty stiff. But for half a day it’s definitely looking promising. I can imagine where it’s heading, with her bracing herself against the wind and dust from the heli. I agree with Dean about the lower right side of the simulation. But the rest of it is looking pretty great! What sim are you using for the cloth?
Keep it up!
Cheers.

Here is a reference, they have other models just look around…

Maybe it could be found on ebay or something… You have good skills, maybe you don’t need them. :scream:

#333

Nice model mate. One comment though, since she’s obviously a strict muslim woman, wearing that full headscarf, that dress she’s wearing is the equivalent of a very tiny pair of hotpants I think. :scream: It shoudl come to the ankles then

#334

In der Tat.

And for takeing only half a day the cloth simulation ist excellent too. Can’t wait for updates.

Hi André!

I’ve finally worked it out :bounce:. Was a thing that I used a “Collapse To” command to merge the UVW-map and the editable poly, but this doesn;t worked well. After applying the unwrap-uvw it ripped the editable poly to triangles, so it was impossible to stitch them and allignt to UV space. But when I use convert to editable poly on the object instead of using the previous (collapse stack), everything is much better! After the unwrap-uvw the object is divided into nice chunks of polygons and than it’s not a problem to make a uv-map from them :).

You advices helped a lot! Thank you :).

Considering your modelling/animating/texturing skills - I’m speechless , they are great! It’s great that we can see your progress, really motivating .

Keep them comming!!!:applause:

#336

Wow, i have only words in German for that!

Super geil! Der Hammer!

Absolute fantastic work

#337

@Dean92: Thanks! Yes I wanted it to be moving more, I think it´s the size of the turbulence in the wind force.

@jussing: Hehe yes, it just worked and that started to scare me

@Giom: Thanks for the kind works!

@DerPapa: Thanks  Haha meinst Du?

@Dean92: Hmm you think so? Have a look into the CG-Choice gallery, I´m happy when I reach that! :stuck_out_tongue:

@Aedilhum: Yes very stiff. The walk cycle is done by the character studio footsteps and that is what gives this typical look of cs-motion. I was happy that this stuff worked just by placing the footsteps to get a base for tweaking later. The sim I used is just a cloth modifier named “cloth”

@echotalon: I already had all these pictures found by google when I was looking for some uniforms but thank you anyway

@MadMeph: Thanks, I also thought about that but the cloth in the face is supposed to be more a sand protection than something religious. But lengthen the dress shouldn´t be a problem.

@DeFi: Hehe thanks  I hope the next update is ready soon.

@vladino: Thank you! Good that you finally found the error!

@Galadiel: Dankeschön :slight_smile:

Currently I do some other small background stuff fort this shot. I need to hurry a bit and not to be so lazy :stuck_out_tongue:
So I hope there´s something to look at soon!

Thanks to all for visiting!

Cheers
André

Micro-update

For one shot I need a tank so I modeled this one (still WIP).
8hrs from start to this state.

The tank experts may find some inaccuracies but hey, it´s for the background ;)
