Just dropping in to say hi and introduce myself a bit.
I’m TwoCatsYelling, or just TwoCats. But you can call me Mike.
I’ve recently decided to jump back into 3D modeling/animation as a serious pursuit.
I originally got into CG after seeing Jurassic Park a thousand years ago in '93. Went to art school for 3D Animation for a time until becoming disatissfied with the curriculum, the software and technology being taught, so I stopped.
Long story short, life and other interests kinda pulled me away from CG for a while. All along, I’ve always had these stories that I wanted to tell, worlds that I wanted to render out in some way, and so forth. I dabbled in 3D all along, would use Blender to create stuff. Nothing really noteworthy. I’d call it “doodles”.
Recently, though, the urge to get those stories and ideas out has returned, and 3D modeling and animation has caught my attention yet again.
So, almost 20 years since first seeing Jurassic Park, I’ve wound my way back to where I started: wanting to create stories and worlds via 3D modeling and Animation.
I’m glad I continued to “doodle” with Blender across its different versions, as I’ve actually learned more than I realized. It’s given me a nice “head start”, so I can focus more on the art and theory and less on how to use the software.
Where I take this is still wide open. There’s several possibilities I could pursue, but I know I want to eventually turn it into a career. One step at a time, though. For now, I just want to learn and improve.
I’m taking a learning track on cgcookie and will expand out from there…
I look forward to sharing my creations with you all, getting feedback and critique, and of course, checking out and appreciating yours!
See you around!
